I'm dipping into my favourite colouring set - Tilda Fabric's Creating Memories collection - for one last time. As I mentioned in previous posts (here, here and here) they're already helpfully grouped into seasonal palettes, but that doesn't mean we can't cherry-pick our favourites from each collection to tell a different story. In this final post, as spring gently tips into summer, I'm carrying you away to a walled garden full of roses...

clockwise from the top: Gracie green, Carla red, Paint Dots light blue, Sophie red, Stripe green, Frida pearl, Seamstripe teal, Carla pink, Evie green, Seamstripe red, Gingham red, Sophie teal, Harper pink

For this colour story I looked to my Midsummer Sampler Pinterest board for inspiration. Combining the rich reds and greens from the winter collection with spring's aquas and pinks whisks them - and me - straight to that rose garden, recalling summer skies and the myriad shades in a single bloom.

Quite honestly I was spoilt for choice when choosing a quilt to recolour, as I think this palette is the most 'me'. But summer days call for easy going quilts to take outside into the garden, so I've chosen a beginner-friendly favourite, Wild Strawberries...

You can find a PDF pattern for Wild Strawberries here and a paper pattern here.

Then, as the 1st of June will mark the tenth anniversary of CakeStand Quilts, I wanted to gift you all a celebratory block to thank you for, well, everything! Quilting is My Cup of Tea sums up a decade of pattern design and I'll share the pattern with you next week.

It goes without saying that quilting really is my cup of tea :-)

with love from the studio,
