Put on your cosiest jumper and join me for a woodland adventure: we'll build a den, forage for our supper and snuggle up under a quilt that savours the season of rest. Let me introduce you to the…

Last summer I sent out a little survey to our block of the month gang, and one of the replies included a suggestion for a future theme that I just couldn't stop thinking about. So this year's quilt is firmly rooted in the woodlands of Britain and inspired by the flora and fauna we might find there in late autumn.
I've drawn on the Autumn Story fabric palette I put together last year for my colour inspiration. I also looked back to my first sampler quilt, Spellbound, and I like to think of Wildwood as a sister quilt to that one. Spellbound was set in an autumn garden, but this time we'll be opening the gate and venturing out into the wild...

Andrea and I have been creating our block of the month programmes for eight years now and over those years our programmes have grown into something truly special. I like to think that we are holding your hand as we make this wonderful quilt together: inspiring you, encouraging you and supporting you on a magical, creative adventure.
This year’s programme will run for nine months, from October 2026 until June 2027. Our block of the month participants will receive an exclusive pattern book and beautifully packaged kits containing everything they need to create thirteen original Wildwood sampler blocks and their leafy setting. We'll use my tried and trusted techniques - which are rooted in simple machine-piecing - and adding details with trims and embroidery. This year we'll be sewing with a suitably autumnal selection of prints from Tilda Fabric's delightfully nostalgic Village Life collection.
We always include a secret-squirrel journal and this year it is aptly named as we'll be meeting the woodland creatures who inspired the blocks and focusing on the techniques used to create them. We'll also support you with monthly filmed block tutorials and online communities where you can share your progress, your questions and your favourite sewing tips.

If you’d like to sew with your own fabric we’ll be offering a digital version of the programme too - which we trialled last year - that includes monthly PDF block pattern downloads alongside access to our journal, filmed tutorials and community support.
We'll be revealing the quilt and opening up reservations on the 15th of August, when we can share images of the fabric, so put the date in your diary and be sure to sign up for our newsletters. We can't wait to share this new adventure with you!
with love from the studio,
