Nutcracker block of the month update...

It's Valentine's Day this weekend, so I'm posting a little love-letter to our current block of the month programme, the Nutcracker, and introducing you to our cast so far...

Sewing with Tilda Fabrics' Merry Little Christmas collection, we've decorated our Christmas Tree, met the hero of our tale, the Nutcracker, his dastardly - but darling - foe, the Mouse King, and listened to both a Grandfather and a Cuckoo clock chime midnight. This month we met the handsome Prince and made a start on our Land of Sweets border blocks.

We've also made some sweet treats to sustain us as we sew: our Mouse King inspired some marzipan mice, putting a ‘Nutcracker’ twist on festive German confectionary. And the cute Little Owl pins and stickers that we sent out this month are a lovely reminder of our cosy days sewing together.

Andrea and I were rather overwhelmed by demand for the Nutcracker programme, so this year we've introduced a pattern-only subscription, so you can still join to make this magical, heirloom quilt, using your very own fabrics in the most delightful company.
