The British Sew-a-Row

It probably won't have escaped your notice that we are celebrating a very special anniversary here in the UK: our wonderful Queen's Platinum Jubilee. If your bunting is on standby and you're looking for a way to commemorate this special occasion then I have just the thing: the British Sew-a-Row.

I am teaming up with four of my fabulous quilty friends - Yasmeen from Sand & Stars, Sonia from Fabric & Flowers, Lou Orth Designs and Jo from The Crafty Nomad - to design a very special quilt to commemorate her Majesty's seventy years of devoted service. We have designed a row each, using our favourite quilting techniques, so that we can build your skills and your confidence as we go. Doesn't that sound fun?

Our themes are, of course, very British and you can look out for some sneaky peeks on Instagram from the beginning of May. Our patterns and tutorials will be shared, one row a day, from Monday the 6th of May. We have had such a lovely time collaborating on this pattern and are so smitten with each other's rows, we just know you will be too.

If you'd like to join me as I make mine, I will have some limited edition starter kits in the shop. They are listed as 'out of stock' at the moment as I'm just waiting for one last fabric to arrive. There will be a baker's dozen - that's 13 - Fat Quarters of Tilda, Liberty, Moda and Riley Blake favourites to get you started in shades of red, ivory, blue and teal. I'm hoping that you'll add some precious scraps of your own to make a souvenir quilt with your favourite fabric memories.

Or you can use your bundle to make lots of bunting. But I hope you'll join us for what promises to be a wonderful summer of sewing,

Nicola xx
