There's no place like home, there's no place like home...

Close your eyes and click your heels together three times... and you'll have a new quilt. Ah, if only it was that easy! But you might just have the idea for a new quilt, because I have plans for an eagerly awaited bundle of fabric I've had on pre-order from Rose Patchwork in Bath: Cath Kidston's Signature Collection.

When I started quilting I loved sewing with Cath Kidston's rose and polka-dot strewn prints and was sad when they stopped selling them. But they're back! Riley Blake now have the license to reprint them and I cannot wait for their first collection to arrive.

One of the key prints in this collection is called Icons and features all the things we adored about Cath back in the day: book bags, ironing board covers, teacups and cushions. All the everyday things that made our homes bright and pretty.

Which lead me to thinking that I what I really wanted to make was a quilt full of... homes. I love a house block - as I'm sure you've noticed - so I'm collecting together all of the house blocks I've designed for samplers over the years and creating my own quilty village. All of my samplers use a 14" finished block size, so can easily be mixed and matched. And an Irish Chain setting will ensure that no precious scrap goes to waste.
