Wildwood Block of the Month: reservations are open!

Every year my lovely friend Andrea - from the Willow Cottage Quilt Co - joins me to create deliciously curated parcels for our warm and supportive block of the month and it's time, at last, to introduce our new programme...

So, put on your cosiest jumper and join us for a woodland adventure: we'll build a den, forage for our supper and snuggle up under a quilt that savours the season of rest. We’re delighted to invite you to join us to make the Wildwood Sampler.

Our new block of the month programme will run for nine months, from October 2026 until June 2027 and you can look forward to receiving an exclusive pattern book and beautifully packaged kits containing everything you need to create thirteen original Wildwood sampler blocks and their leafy setting, along with some specially designed treats to enhance our time sewing together. We'll be using my tried and trusted techniques - which are rooted in simple machine-piecing - and adding details with simple embroidery.

Wildwood is firmly rooted in the woodlands of Britain and inspired by the flora and fauna we might find there in late autumn. This year's secret-squirrel journal is aptly named, as we'll be meeting the woodland creatures who inspired the blocks and focusing on the techniques used to create them. Once again we'll be supporting you with monthly filmed block tutorials and online communities where you can share your progress, your questions and your favourite sewing tips.

The Wildwood sampler quilt will finish at 70" square and we'll be sewing with a suitably autumnal selection of warm and nostalgic prints from Tilda Fabric's new Village Life collection, along with some cosy favourites from Creating Memories, which combine the russet, honey and burnished brown of fur and spines, with smoky teals, lichen greens and the rich red of toadstool caps and crab apple jelly. We’ll also be exploring contrasting backgrounds to move us from a hedgehog's snug nest to an autumn sky full of tumbling leaves. 

If you’d like to sew with your own fabric we’ll be offering a digital version of the programme too - which we trialled last year - that includes monthly PDF block pattern downloads alongside access to our journal, filmed tutorials and community support. As the digital subscription doesn’t include a kit, places are unlimited.

For the Month by Month option, the remaining nine payments will be made by PayPal Subscription and will cost £19.75 plus postage (postage will be £3.60 within the UK & £8.70 to Australia/New Zealand*).

The full Quilt Kit, which will be invoiced through PayPal in October, will cost 177.75 (postage will be £6.05 within the UK & £16.05 to Australia/New Zealand*).

Andrea and I have been creating our block of the month programmes for eight years now and over those years our programmes have grown into something truly special.
