A warm, summery welcome if you're joining me from the Moda Bakeshop website today. This summer the Bakeshop chefs have been sharing blocks...
...inspired by relaxing with friends on a lazy summer afternoon, porch swings, iced tea and laughter, Summer in the Country is here...
I decided to take my hosts a Summer Basket full of bright flowers made with the deliciously vintage Back Porch fabric, designed by Me & My Sister Designs.
A country summer definitely says 'flowers' to me and I'm spoilt for choice in my own garden at this time of year. I really loved the 1930s feel of the fabric Moda chose for the sewalong this year and I could easily see this block blooming into a vintage quilt with sunny sky-blue sashing.
You can find the instructions for my block - along with more summery blocks and settings created by my fellow chefs - on the Bakeshop website throughout this month.
And if you're sewing along do share your blocks with fellow sewalong participants on Instagram. You'll find lots of inspiration and encouragement there!
