To make the egg cosy...

8. Repeat step 7 with the 4½” x 5½” background piece to make the Egg Cosy back.
9. Join a 4½” x 6” lining piece to both the quilted front and the quilted back, pressing towards the lining.
10. Lay the back section right sides up and pin the folded ribbon – folded in half – at the centre of the top edge. Then place the front section on top, right sides down, and pin, marking an opening on one side of the lining.

11. Using the prepared template mark a curved line at all four corners, then sew around the perimeter ¼” inside the marked line REMEMBERING THE OPENING.
12. Turn the Egg Cosy right-sides out, finger pressing the seams open as you go.
13. Press lightly, then slip stitch the opening closed before pushing the lining into the quilted outer. Press around the bottom of the Egg Cosy.
If your nearest and dearest don't want chicks on their egg cosies - sad face - just cut two 'backs' to make a plain cosies.
