Pinch me...

February 22, 2016

I'm slightly overexcited to tell you that I've written a tutorial for the Moda Bakeshop. It's for a quilt that I've called 'Speedwell' - you can find it here - because it goes together so quickly. So quickly, in fact, that since it was posted on Friday, a lovely lady called Jennifer has already made one. Which was a bit thrilling.

The Bakeshop is a wonderful resource for quilters and quilt-shop owners. All the patterns use their popular pre-cuts and are ABSOLUTELY FREE. Which makes them perfect for beginners. And if you're a beginner yourself and are wondering what on earth a pre-cut is, I've written all about them here.

Writing for Moda Bakeshop was a bit of a trip down memory lane for me, as my very first foray into quilting was a Bakeshop project: a cute little table runner made with a Charm Pack, designed by Camille Roskelley and still available here

My quilt pattern uses a Layer Cake, but not quite all of it.  In fact, you will have a stack of 5" squares in every print left over when you've finished cutting out your fabric. Otherwise known as a Charm Pack! Perfect to pass on to a friend who'd like to start quilting.

I'm giving my Charm Pack away on Instagram right now, so pop over if you'd like a chance to win it (and a few other goodies from my stash).  Good luck... *GIVE-AWAY CLOSED*
